2015 gmc sierra 3500 review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Redesigned for 2015, the gmc sierra 3500hds are offered in 4x2 and 4x4 models with either a single rear wheel (srw) or a double rear wheel configuration if extra payload and/or towing requirements are needed. The bold new exterior houses a choice of gas or bi-fuel (gasoline and cng) 6. 0-liter v8 or duramax 6. 6-liter diesel engines, a fully updated cabin with available intellilink connectivity and other features designed for the most discerning truck owners. Gmc designers evolved the sierra 3500hd's familiar shape while adding distinctive details like standard projector headlamps, available led signature accent lighting and detailed new grilles. All sierra models have chrome grille surrounds and premium black wheel arch moldings, and different trim levels feature chrome belt moldings, mirror caps and door handles, as well as unique wheel designs and grille details. A new double-cab model, which features forward-hinged rear doors, replaces the previous extended cab, and allows easier access to the back seat, especially in tight parking spaces. The rear doors on crew-cab models are larger, and combined with revised seats, create more rear legroom and enable easier entry and exit for back seat passengers. Updates to the body and chassis are designed to improve ride and handling, comfort and capability. Regular cabs have 8-foot box lengths, while double cabs are available with either 6-foot, 6-inch or 8-foot boxes, and crew cab customers can choose between 6-foot, 5-inch or 8-foot boxes. The standard engine on all sierra hds is a 360 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque 6. 0l vortec gasoline v8, matched to a six-speed automatic transmission. A bi-fuel version of the 6. 0-liter will run on either gasoline or compressed natural gas is available. The optional duramax 6. 6-liter diesel, with 397 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque, is mated to the allison 1000 6-speed automatic transmission. Standard trailer sway control keeps both the truck and trailer heading in the same direction, automatically. The cornerstep bumper, combined with handholds built into the new box rail protectors, makes it easier to access the box. Intellilink, standard on all models except the base work truck, provides easy-to-use connectivity for the job site or the family vacation, with natural voice recognition and enough ports and power outlets to support multiple devices. For owners whose work or recreation takes them off road, the z71 package includes rancho shocks, a skid plate, hill descent control and an automatic locking rear differential. Available intellilink connectivity uses an available high-definition 8-inch color touchscreen. Heated seats are available with cloth seats and standard with leather. Available led cargo lights integrated beneath the bed rails will illuminate the bed when a tonneau cover is in place. The available ez lift and lower tailgate uses an integrated torsion bar and damper to ease lifting and lowering. Paired with forward collision alert and lane departure warning is driver alert seat, which generates vibrating pulse patterns on the left and/or right side of the lower seat cushion bolster to alert the driver of potential dangers, such as an un-signaled lane change or approaching another vehicle too quickly. Other options include front and rear park assist, a rear camera, an integrated trailer brake controller, a spray-in bed liner and a diesel exhaust brake. Heated Seats
